Jan
and Chris are both originally from Cardiff and have spent most of
their lives living and working in Wales as well as working abroad
in Canada and Saudi Arabia.
Before entering the property market Jan had a rewarding career in
education, initially as a primary school teacher, before eventually
completing her Masters in Education and becoming a PGCE lecturer
at Cardiff University. While in Saudi Arabia Jan greatly enjoyed
setting up and running her own primary school.
Prior to renovating and letting houses in Cardiff city centre Chris
worked as a civil engineer in the construction and site management
of large-scale civic and commercial buildings including the project
management of hospitals for the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Health
and the Dartford Tunnel Shopping Complex.
Jan and Chris have now spent over 20 years letting rooms in young
professional and postgraduate houseshare properties. In total they
have renovated 10 houses and built a wealth of experience in the
management of properties and the needs of tenants.
They belong to the Guild
of Residential Landlords and take an active interest in new
housing legislation. They are registered with Rent Smart Wales which
identifies landlords who are competent and professional in their
dealings with their properties and tenants, and their houses are
licenced by Cardiff Council as proof that their properties meet
strict standards in terms of management, quality, amenities, fire
safety, security and thermal insulation.
When not managing their properties Jan and Chris enjoy travelling
and are especially keen on nature and countryside walking. They
love the Welsh landscape and frequently visit Tenerife for its beautiful
scenery, warm climate and excellent coastal and mountain walks.
